Goal-driven: group of girls have got what it takes

HASLEMERE Town Football Club under-14s girls section have soared up the league.

Their winning ways this season, along with thos of the under-12s, were celebrated at an end of the season presentation and barbecue at Camelsdale Recreation Ground.

“The season saw the under-12s achieve their first-ever victory in November and they never looked back, winning a further seven games and finishing a credible eighth in the league,”club secretary Albert Hall said, who catches the U-14s.

“The under 14s also enjoyed a successful season. From October 9, they remained unbeaten in the league with 10 wins from 18 games. They finished third in the league.”

The club wants to expand the girls section next season and is holding Introduction to Football sessions for girls in year groups two to five on July 11 and 12 from 6pm-7.30 pm at Camelsdale Recreation Ground.
