UK Olympic athlete Luke Lennon-Ford, who has won gold and bronze medals at European level, paid a flying visit to The Royal School.
Luke focused on getting the best from pupils completing fitness circuits in the hall, with their class teachers also taking part, to boost team spirit.
The 400m runner gave an inspirational talk to the whole Haslemere school about his career about the lessons and resilience he has learned along the way.
Pupils were sponsored to see how many circuits they could complete in 20 minutes and the money raised will be split between buying more PE equipment for the school, and supporting Sports for Schools, which arranges inspiring visits by Olympic athletes.
Lee Tindal, head of senior boys’ PE, said: “The pupils were inspired byLuke Lennon-Ford.
“The question and answer session gave them a real insight into the life of a professional athlete. The underlining message from him was that it takes real hard work and focus to achieve his goals and this can be transferred into any other target.”
