OWNERS of Farnham Sound and Light have been set back around £25,000 after their van packed with expensive equipment was targeted by thieves and set alight.

Co-owner Ollie Moore was woken in the early hours of Thursday, December 17, morning by a knock at the door, and was met with unsettling news from police informing him that his van had been the victim of an arson attack.

In addition a number of expensive items including subwoofers and lights were missing.

Ollie, who runs the company with his brother George, said: “The van never actually went anywhere, it was parked outside of my house in Weybourne, everything is completely lost. It is devastating, it has taken me a long time to build everything up. It’s very expensive and now it’s lost. I am out of pocket and have to buy everything again.

“It was full of expensive equipment, including my speakers, mixer sets, DJ CD players and lighting. The equipment was estimated at around £15,000 and the van £10,000. Luckily the van is insured.

“However the equipment is not insured unless it’s being used at venues because it is very hard to get kit insurance. I would like to say thank everyone for their support. We have had great support from the public and on our crowdfunding page [which was set up by brother George to help raise money to replace the stolen equipment].

“At the moment a lot of companies have offered to lend us their equipment as it is such a busy time of the year and we don’t want to let our customers down.”

Their fundraising page has currently reached £1,095 out of their £3,000 target, to donate go to https://crowdfunding.just
