HAMPSHIRE Police are appealing for information after the attempted theft of a car in Grayshott.

The 71-year-old victim went outside his house in Beech Lane, just after midnight on Sunday, July 3, when he saw two would-be thieves in his blue Mercedes.

When they saw the owner, the men ran off towards the centre of the village.

Nothing was stolen but damage had been caused to the vehicle’s steering lock and window.

The two men are described as wearing dark clothing, with one wearing what was possibly a white baseball cap.

Anyone with information on this incident, or anyone who has been people acting suspiciously around vehicles in the village, is asked to call 101, quoting 44160246633.
