FARNHAM firefighters helped tackle a blaze at The Good Intent pub in Puttenham on Tuesday afternoon.

A large three-storey wooden outbuilding of the popular village pub was completely destroyed by the fire and the main road through Puttenham was closed while fire crews from Guildford, Godalming, Farnham and Rushmoor fought to bring the flames under control.

The fire spread to the pub but was successfully doused before any major damage was caused. A cottage next door also suffered water damage and a broken window.
