A HOMELESS man who lured a woman into an underground car park in Farnham and raped her, has been jailed for nine years.

Kevin Keith, 26, from Malvern in Worcestershire, was convicted of three counts of rape at Worcester Crown Court last week, and was sentenced to nine years for each count, to run concurrently.

Keith was sentenced to a further 18 months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of assault causing actual bodily harm against the same victim, also to run concurrently.

He was also placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life and was given an indefinite restraining order against the victim following the seven-day trial

The offences were committed after Keith persuaded his victim to go back to an underground car park in Farnham, where he was living rough at the time, following a New Year’s Eve party on December 31, 2014. Once he had lured her there, he raped her.

Investigating officer Pc Tamzin Ede said: “The sentence reflects the severity of the offences committed by this dangerous man, who lured her back to where he was sleeping rough and then took advantage of her repeatedly in the worst possible way.

“His victim is to be commended for bringing his offending to light, and I am grateful she was able to place her trust in Surrey Police which enabled us to investigate her allegations thoroughly.

“I hope the outcome at court will, to some extent, help the survivor begin to move on with her life and feel that justice has been served.

“This should serve as a warning to anyone who thinks they can get away with sexually abusing others that Surrey Police works tirelessly to investigate all such reports to increase the number of cases put before the courts and ensure more offenders are brought to justice.”
