A MAN has been remanded on unconditional bail and a trial date set, accused of assaulting two police officers in Farnham.

Storm John Kennedy, 26, of Earls Avenue, Kent, appeared at Staines Magistrates’ Court on August 5, accused of multiple offences including assault and the use of “threatening, abusive or insulting words” during an incident on Sunday, January 13.

He was found guilty of two offences involving the use of “threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour”, one which was described as “racially aggravated”.

He is set to face trial on August 30, under the Assaults on Emergency Workers (Offences) Act 2018, for the assault of officers PC Clarke and PC Etheridge. The trial was previously adjourned following a court’s request Mr Kennedy produces a medical certificate and for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.

Robert Richard Charles Pelling, 30, of Vicarage Road, Alton, was fined £233, told to pay compensation of £30, £85 costs and his driving licence endorsed with six penalty points on July 29 after he pleaded guilty to driving at 50mph in a 30mph limit on the B3004, Cakers Lane, East Worldham on May 5.

Jack David Joseph Thompson, 19, of Edward Road, Alton, was fined £160, told to pay compensation of £30, £85 costs and his driving licence endorsed with six penalty points after pleading guilty to a series of offences on July 30, consisting of driving without third party insurance, driving with an incorrect licence and driving upon a footpath or causeway, with all offences taking place on High Street, Alton, on December 3, 2018.

Elena Camelia Gherghel, 34, of Hereford Lane, Farnham, was fined £660, told to pay £66 compensation, £85 costs and her driving licence endorsed with six points on August 1, after being proved guilty of failing to identify the driver of a car alleged to have driven 70mph in a 60mph limit on the A31 at Alresford on January 10.
