HAMPSHIRE Constabulary is urging people to update their devices in order to guard against cyber attacks.

According to GCHQ an estimated two million cybercrimes were committed last year and its cybersecurity arm, CESG, recommends that software updates as the most effective way to protect themselves online.

Many in the South East don’t download the latest software updates for their mobile phones (68 per cent) or computers (64 per cent), as soon as they are available.

The Cyber Streetwise campaign is urging people and businesses to do just that.
