A FARNHAM man has appeared in court after more than £150,000 worth of cannabis was seized from a ‘small boat’ in Jersey.

Three men were arrested as they were arriving into St Ouen’s Bay on the west coast of the channel island in the early hours of last Friday.

Customs officials seized 27.6kg (59lbs) of cannabis with an estimated street value of £164,000, after which the men were charged with drug-trafficking offences.

Jersey Magistrates’ Court heard the trio are from Farnham, Ringwood in Hampshire and Blandford in Dorset and adjourned the case to June 5 at the Royal Court.

The men have been remanded in custody.
