A man was bundled into the back of a car by three strangers in Church Crookham and driven to his home which was then burgled on Sunday morning, say police.

The man’s terrifying ordeal took place in the early hours of August 7, and Hampshire Constabulary is appealing for witnesses, or anyone with information, to come forward.

Police say the victim was threatened and punched by three men, who then “forcibly escorted” him into the rear of a vehicle, before driving off.

The man said he was further threatened, before the men gained access to his home address and stole a “quantity of cash” and a grey Audi S3 car worth around £40,000.

The thieves were then seen to flee in the vehicles in the direction of The Wyvern pub in Aldershot Road.

The victim, who suffered minor injuries, was unable to identify his assailants. But he described two of the three men as being white and aged between 20 and 25. They were in a white BMW with blacked-out windows.

Both the BMW and Audi have not been located.

A police spokesman said: “Officers have been conducting initial enquires in the area today (Sunday), but are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or the moments leading up to or shortly afterwards, to come forward.

“We would urge anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the early hours of Sunday morning, or who has seen a dark grey Audi S3 with a damaged nearside wing mirror since then, to contact us.

“Perhaps you have dash-cam footage, mobile phone footage or Ring doorbell footage?”

“Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call 101, quoting crime reference number 44220318189. Alternatively, you can contact independent charity, Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
