SURREY Police are appealing for the public’s help in tracking down four stolen World War I campaign medals which were taken while the owner was undergoing respite care.
The medals were reported stolen from an address in Seale Lane, in Farnham, on April 11. They belong to the owner’s late grandfather and hold significant sentimental value.
One is a victory medal from World War I and another of red, white and green is a special medal awarded by the Italian government.
Detective Sergeant Andy Greaves, from West Surrey Criminal Investigation Department, said: “I am urging anybody who has seen the medals or knows of their whereabouts to get in touch with us.
“We would love to be able to find these and return them in one piece. They may not be worth much money but they are priceless to the owner and his family.”
