A HASLEMERE man has been arrested on suspicion of making or possessing explosives under suspicious circumstances.

Surrey Police said this week the man’s activities were not believed to be related to terrorism but confirmed investigations were continuing.

Officers attended an address on Weycombe Road, Haslemere, on December 8, executing a drugs warrant.

During a search of the property, officers found a number of fireworks and other items which required the assistance of an explosives disposal team.

Officers remained at the property on Saturday, and Sunday.

The man has since been released while the investigation continues.
