Surrey Police clamped down on anti-social behaviour in Farnham last week after issuing a dispersal order.
A 48-hour Section 35 dispersal order, which gives officers the power to ask a person to leave a designated area and not return for up to 48 hours, was issued at 7pm last Wednesday (February 20) around Sainsbury’s, South Street, and included Victoria Garden where vandals trashed an ‘otter’ from the Otter Wey Trail last May.
A Surrey Police spokesperson confirmed the order, issued under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, “saw a marked decrease in anti-social behaviour”. A further dispersal order can be issued “should anti-social behaviour return to the area”
