A FARNHAM man who pleaded guilty to burglary, shoplifting, dangerous driving and theft, has been given a two-year probation order.
Andrew Evans, 29, of Stoke Hills, drove away from a road traffic accident last December, he was caught stealing £518 from Sainsbury’s supermarket in Alton in April, burgled a safe, causing hundreds of pounds of damage, in May and shoplifted whiskey from Waitrose in Woking.
Evans who appeared in Guildford Crown Court on Friday, August 5, has already spent two months in custody. His two-year probation order includes the requirement to spend 30 days of rehabilitation activity and six months of drug rehabilitation. He will also be under overnight curfew for at least a month between 7pm and 7am.
Judge Stephen Climie said: “A combination of drugs was the background for you committing offences, you have, in my judgement, having watched you and your observing family and friends, made some progress in the last two months.
“It is now up to you. If you let yourself down, I will make sure you spend a good stretch in prison. Do as you are told, do what you are expected for the next two years and that will be the end of this.”
