ROWLEDGE Village Shop was the victim of an attempted ram-raid burglary last night.

Thieves attempted to smash a vehicle through the front door of the Co-op in Recreation Road at around 3am on Monday.

However, they left empty handed after failing to break through the shop’s security barrier.

It is the second time this month a Co-op in the Farnham area has been ram-raided, coming after the chain’s Wrecclesham supermarket was targeted on January 6.

Rowledge Village Shop hopes to reopen at 1pm today. In the meantime deputy manager Lisa Dyer is selling newspapers outside the premises.
