Police followed their noses to catch two thieves red-handed with a haul of stolen French cheese.

Butser neighbourhood officers were on duty on Monday when they spotted a man wanted on warrant in Petersfield. 

Not to Brie deterred, the female in his company was mildly cheesed off when officers also located a haul of stolen cheese in her possession (pictured above).

“Didn’t need the old copper’s nose to get a whiff of this lot!” said one officer.

“Now she’s been reported for summons, my office smells like a fromagerie!

“Have a Gouda day all.”
