A NUMBER of cars have been broken into in the Upper Hale area over the past week.

Four vehicles initially had their windows smashed across the area overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday (June 20/21) last week.

A Mini was broken into on Upper Hale Road, at the junction with Vicarage Lane, while a Renault Clio was also targeted in Vicarage Lane. On both occasions thieves found nothing of value worth stealing.

However, a wallet was stolen from the cab of a van in Balmoral Crescent, and in the morning of June 21, reported at around 7.45am, a Renault Megane was broken into on Lawday Link and a handbag taken from the seat.

Another victim posted on Facebook that several items of clothing and a sat nav were stolen from their car, parked on their driveway in Heath Lane, sometime over the weekend.

A Surrey Police spokesman confirmed PCSO Richard Platt is the local officer for that area and is aware of these incidents. He will be reviewing any CCTV opportunities as well as making local enquiries.

If anyone has any information or saw anything they should call Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference 45170065747.
