A THURSLEY man arrested in July after a teenage boy was shot in Witley has been released under investigation.

The suspect, aged in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after the teenager was found with serious injuries believed to be caused by a firearm at around 9pm on July 9, by Lea Coach Road.

The youth was rushed to St George’s Hospital, Tooting, but was released from hospital a week later.

A woman in her 40s, also from Thursley, was arrested for conspiracy to murder. She was released under investigation shortly afterward.

The arrested man was bailed until September 27.

Inspector Gary Smith described it as an “isolated event”.
