SURREY Police were called out to a multi-vehicle collision on the A3 northbound at Hindhead Tunnel at 8.20am on Monday (April 1), which caused a lengthy tailback to Liphook.

A spokesman said: “We were called at 8.20am following a collision between two vehicles on the northbound A3 shortly before the Hindhead Tunnel.”

South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene, reporting: “Ambulance crews attended the scene following reports of a road traffic collision on the A3 at Hindhead at approximately 8.15am.

“Two patients were assessed and treated for minor injuries but didn’t require further hospital treatment.”

The road reopened at 10.30am.
