Police have named the victim of a fatal crash on New Odiham Road in Alton on Wednesday, November 2.

Rebecca Freer, 47, from Farnham, was one of two motorists who had stepped out of their cars shortly before midnight after a fallen tree had blocked the un-lit country road.

She was hit by a white Vauxhall Corsa and died at the scene. Her family is being supported by specialist officers.

Another woman in her 50s suffered minor injuries.

PC Jonathan Wood from Hampshire’s roads policing unit said: “This incident occurred on a quiet country road late at night.

“We would like to speak with anyone who saw this incident or the vehicles involved and would particularly like to speak with anyone who has relevant dash-cam footage that could assist us.”
