A 22-year-old man from Woking has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a horror smash near Guildford which killed two people.

A driver and passenger died after a white Seat Lion came into collision with two vehicles of the same make on Epsom Road in East Clandon around 11pm last night (Friday, August 21).

The driver was a man in his early 20s, while the passenger was a man in his late teens, with their next of kin being informed. A white and grey Seat Leon were also involved in the collision, with the road remaining closed at the time of writing as police continue investigations.

The aforementioned man from Woking remains in custody along with a 21-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man, both from Guildford, who were also arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Police launched an appeal for witnesses and have asked anyone who witnessed the collision, or the events leading up to it, to get in touch.
