THERE was great support for the Farnham and Wey Valley Cats Protection Black Cat Hallowe’en Party on Saturday evening.

The event was held to coincide with Cats Protection’s national Black Cat Day, to draw attention to the fact that black cats are the hardest to home and are often in care much longer than any others.

They are also more likely to suffer abuse due to outdated myths and superstitions.

Black Cat Day is held to celebrate the uniqueness of black cats.

Everyone enjoyed the entertainment provided by The Surrey Ukeaholics and the DJ Steve of Ample Entertainment had everyone up on the dance floor to show off their fabulous costumes.

Sue Millward, a volunteer for Farnham and Wey Valley Cats Protection, said: “The event raised an amazing £866 on the night and we hope to add to this with an on line auction running on our Facebook page (Farnham and wey valley cats protection charity auction and sales) up until Monday, November 7.

“All funds raised will go to help the cats and kittens in our care.”
