WINNING a superb MG TF 115 sports car was a chance in 10 million for a Haslemere woman.

Ruth Anderson, 24, from Critchmere Hill bought a pack of Country Life butter to make a birthday cake to celebrate her sisterÕs 16th birthday.

She couldnÕt believe her eyes when she read on the inside of the wrapper ÒCongratulations, you have won an MGÓ.

ÒThere was a freephone number so I thought I may as well call it,Ó said Ruth, who bought her winning pack of butter from a Sainsbury store in Clapham High Street

But Ruth wonÕt be driving the sparkling, deep blue sports coupŽ away from the garage - she doesnÕt drive. She plans to sell it but will be putting some of the money towards driving lessons and some to pay off her loans.

ÒI could end up being able to drive but without a car,Ó said Ruth, who paid for 14 driving lessons and then had to call a halt when she ran out of funds.

ÒMy boyfriend thinks itÕs great and would like to drive it but I wonÕt let him because I donÕt want to put any miles on the clock,Ó said Ruth.

The keys of the £15,700 sports car were handed over to Ruth on Saturday at the Haslemere Rover Garage.

ÒI donÕt really need a car, but would like to learn to drive,Ó said Ruth, who is involved in television production.

But she admitted that her work mates Òare all very jealousÓ.

She said she never went in for competitions and had never even bought a lottery ticket. ÒBut I may start!Ó

RuthÕs lucky pack of butter was one of 10 million 250 gm packs used in a promotion which began in April.
