THE new academic year at Churcher’s College Junior School, in Liphook, started with the opening of some dazzling new buildings.
With a new term, new children and almost a new school, the start of the academic year was heralded by the completion of five new classrooms, a state-of-the-art computer science suite with a console reminiscent of the Starship Enterprise, a new library, an extensive infant play area and an all-weather games area.
The new buildings at the site in Midhurst Road, were opened by the chairman of governors, Michael Gallagher, who is an architect by profession.
He said how much he appreciated the space and light the areas provide for children and a real tour-de-force had been achieved while retaining the “delightfully warm, comfortable and caring feel of the school”.
Junior school head Ian Adams, told The Herald: “We moved to this site from Petersfield just over 10 years ago and this most recent addition gives the staff and children fantastic space and wonderful resources to work their magic. But this certainly isn’t the limit to our energy and enthusiasm as we now turn our thoughts to the new Churcher’s College Nursery School project for next year.”
