“THE year 2017 has been a fast-paced and busy year for Whitehill Town Council,” said Whitehill Town Council leader Mark Davison in his new-year message to the Herald.

“There has been the continued management of the town’s new and long-standing green infrastructure and our community assets.

“Also, our volunteer councillors and five full and part-time staff have been working extremely hard behind the scenes to help steer the town’s development from a resident’s perspective, with a view that the development should be of benefit to all residents, old and new.

“This extra workload, brought about by the town’s regeneration, while generally unseen by the public, is complex, challenging and indeed, at times, perplexing, but is an absolute must if residents are to be listened to in a meaningful way.

“Councillors and staff will be continuing with this hard work on behalf of the residents of Whitehill and Bordon into 2018 and beyond.

“As the leader of the town council, I am so very proud of our staff. Although currently we may only have a small team with limited resources, their extreme professionalism and dedication makes a huge positive impact on what the town council wants to achieve.

“With their help, the town council will, in the future, grow in size and influence, which is an absolute necessity as the town grows and develops.

“I would like to take this opportunity wish all our residents health and happiness for the new year.”
