HASLEMERE Parish, 3 Counties Vineyard and St Stephen’s churches came together to host two ’light’ parties - with almost 100 children attending.
At the children’s light party, for school Years 1 to 5, St Bartholomew’s Church was turned into a twinkling wonderland using fairy lights and candles.
Activities included a competition to see who could eat a doughnut hanging by a string the fastest without using their hands, pumpkin decorating, prayer pass the parcel, sparklers, neon necklace making and candle jar creations.
The youth light party, for school Years 6 to 8, took place in 3 Counties Vineyard Church in Hammer, where the space was transformed into a neon-themed party.
Activities included ’life-sized’ Pacman, neon-coloured slime making, doughnut decorating, an obstacle course, a nerf gun rifle range, glow stick Pictionary, a silent disco and glow-in-the-dark volleyball.
An organiser of the parties said: "All three churches would like to thank all the volunteers and the extreme generosity of many local businesses in Haslemere for their donations towards the light parties."
