PUPILS at Churcher’s College Junior School, in Liphook, enjoyed a barbecue picnic lunch with a red, white and blue theme, which was a great build-up to the main event of the day, a wedding celebration in reception class.
Children enjoyed writing invitations to send out to teachers, as well as their brothers and sisters at school and made their own greeting cards to congratulate the Royal couple.
Pupils dressed up in wedding outfits throughout the day and raised their glasses of lemonade to the happy couple during a sumptious wedding breakfast.
Just over the West Sussex border, Hollycombe Primary pupils enjoyed a fun-packed day also dressed in red, white and blue clothes.
They negotiated an obstacle course, built a wedding vehicle out of scrap materials, designed commemorative plates, a special wedding flag and the all-important invitation.
Afterwards they held a street-party lunch in the school garden decorated with bunting and flags.
Headteacher Louise Pearce said: “We had a wonderful day in the sunshine – Hollycombe School children loved celebrating the Royal Wedding with a range of creative and engineering activities.”
