A WOMAN remains in critical condition in hospital after falling from a bridge onto the busiest road in East Hampshire.

Dozens of motorists looked on in horror on Monday as the woman fell off the Bell Hill road bridge onto the northbound A3.

The incident took place just before noon and the victim, whose name hasn't been released, was taken to Southampton General Hospital by an air ambulance.

The woman, who suffered a range of serious injuries, was still alive at the time of going to press but remained critically ill.
