DOZENS of motorists have been forced to pay the price for ignoring a temporary speed limit on the A3.
But hundreds more could still be hit in the wallet for speeding past a temporary camera near the Ham Barn roundabout.
Figures obtained by The Herald show that 1,017 motorists were snapped by the device after exceeding a temporary 50mph limit on the road.
We can also reveal that the highest speed recorded by the camera during its four-month tenure alongside the dual carriageway north of Petersfield was 85mph.
The information came to light on Monday after the Herald made a Freedom of Information request to Hampshire Police in February.
