HOT weather caused the Tarmac to ‘melt’ on the A31 Hogs Back this week - prompting a warning from Surrey Police.

Surrey’s road policing unit (@SurreyRoadCops) Tweeted on Monday afternoon: “We’ve been informed the extreme heat is melting Tarmac on the A31 Guildford to Puttenham.

“Please drive/ride carefully. Local authority aware.”

It came after several motorists reported the road surface lifting up ‘like chocolate’ in the 30 degrees-plus temperatures.
