LIPHOOK Dance Academy is staging its annual show at the Millennium Centre next weekend.
‘The Golden Star’, an original storyline, choreographed and directed by Rebecca Paris, is an adventure of two young girls who wish to experience different styles of dance from across the world to enhance their dance technique.
Rebecca said: “A fairy godmother helps them through their journey guided by a golden star. The children travel by plane, car, boat and flying carpet to Egypt and Spain and are kidnapped by smooth criminals. There’s even a tap-dancing camel!”
Children aged three to 17 will be performing ballet, tap, street, modern and contemporary dance during the shows on Saturday, May 14, and Sunday, May 15.
A guest appearance is made by Rory Toms, 10, who Rebecca has trained over the last year at Amesbury School, and who is currently appearing at Covent Garden’s Royal Opera House, in A Winter’s Tale with the Royal Ballet company. Rory also previously performed in the West End in Matilda and Billy Elliot.
Performances will be at 3pm on Saturday, and 1pm and 3pm on Sunday.
Tickets cost £10 for adults and £7 for children and OAPs and are available from the Millennium Centre on 01428 723889.
