ALTON Maltings Centre will come alive next week thanks to the powerful voices of the Cardiff Arms Park Male Choir.
The choir, which has just returned from an acclaimed European tour, will perform in the town next Saturday, October 15.
The concert, which will raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), will also feature the Kings Pond Shantymen, who perform shanties and other seafaring songs.
For the Welsh choir, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, this is a really special year which began with a tour of Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, playing at such iconic venues as Cologne and Ghent cathedrals and in the historical towns of Koblenz, Valkenburg and Bruges.
But the undoubted highlight of the tour was singing at the Menin Gate in Ypres for the Last Post ceremony.
According to John Partridge, chairman of the Alton branch of the RNLI, the group feels privileged to have a line up for next week’s concert, which starts at 7.30pm and is bound to be "an evening to remember".
Tickets, priced £15 for adults and £10 for under-16s to include a glass of wine and Welsh cakes, are available from the Alton Herald office on Market Square or by calling 01420 82819.
