RACKETS and balls donated by Haslemere Tennis Club to town-based charity St Yared’s Trust are going down a treat in Addis Ababa.

St Yared’s Trust was founded by Haslemere couple Beryl and Peter Bailey to transform the life of disadvantaged Ethiopian children.

The charity is working directly with The School of St Yared, which offers some of the highest quality education to the most deprived children.

Mrs Bailey, who personally delivered the 18 donated rackets and 60 tennis balls, said: “A big thank you to the club. The children and their dedicated teachers were totally overwhelmed by the gift.”
