SEVENTEEN cadets from 229 (Farnham) Squadron, led by Sgt Jack Bennett, attended the Battle Of Britain memorial service at Brookwood Military cemetery.
They were part of the 100 cadets from Surrey Wing Air Training Corps who took part.
This was a very special occasion as this year marked the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, which was fought over the skies of southern England, sometimes by pilots that were not much older than the cadets of today.
Each of the cadets laid a simple wooden cross bearing a poppy on one of the Royal Air Force graves that are in the military cemetery.
229 Squadron had the honour of leading the air cadet banner parties, as the original 229 Squadron RAF flew Hurricane fighter planes from RAF Northolt during the Battle of Britain.
