BRANDISHING placards and wearing face masks, campaigners took to the streets last Friday to protest about the health effects of pollution from traffic fumes.

Around three dozen people - many demonstrating for the first time in their lives - turned out in support of the message from the Farnham Air Quality Campaign that both borough and county councils are ducking their obligations.

'Farnham is exhausted', 'Air pollution the invisible killer' and 'Bad Air Day' were among the slogans used to force home the point.
