THE BATTLE of the airwaves hotted up in Alton this week with contenders for the local radio licence fighting to gain public support.
The competition for Alton's radio station has turned into a two-horse race since the eleventh hour arrival of Alton Radio Limited. Backed by the highly successful Spirit FM station in West Sussex, the newcomer is challenging established Delta FM for the licence.
