SUPERMARKET bosses have passed the final hurdle in their bid to open a convenience store in Petersfield town centre.
But neighbours are worried that the arrival of Morrisons Local will turn Swan Street into a mecca for late-night drinking and anti-social behaviour.
The retailer has been given the green light to install air-conditioning units and a range of signs on the ground floor unit of Polo Court.
And they've now been granted a licence by East Hampshire District Council to sell alcohol at the site from 6am to 11pm.
Bosses originally applied for a 6am to midnight licence before agreeing to a cut due to pressure from trading standards and the police.
But the decision hasn't gone down well with neighbours, who say the store "isn't what the town centre needs" and is asking for trouble.
