AFTER a two-week break, Ryman League leaders Aldershot hope to pick up where they left off when they travel to mid-table Harrow Borough on Saturday.
Aldershot reeled off four straight wins before the lay-off and played some of their best football against Bedford and Heybridge.
"There won't be many changes because we were looking a settled side," said Terry Brown. However, the manager has strengthened his squad and has offers on the table for two other players, a forward and a winger.
Brown had recalled Michael Harper after a successful loan spell at Bognor – four goals in five games – and has completed the paperwork that keeps experienced midfielder Steve Perkins who has been training with Aldershot for three weeks.
Brown said: "Steve offers something a bit different. He's big and strong, but is more of a passer of the ball."
Perkins' pedigree is impressive. He was formerly at Stevenage, Woking and Dagenham, and is a non-league international.
Harper and Perkins are included in the squad, but the only changes to the starting line-up are likely to concern the defence.
With Ray Warburton suspended for one game after collecting five bookings and Jason Cousins ruled out with a knee injury, there is a recall for Anthony Charles to play alongside Dominic Sterling in central defence. Jason Chewins reverts to left-back and Lee Charles will play on the left of midfield.
Aldershot's lead has been cut to four points, but they have a game in hand over Canvey Island and two over third-placed St Albans who continued their revival with a 2-0 win at Hendon on Tuesday.
Aldershot have confirmed the departure of former Fulham, Millwall and Oxford United player Paul Moody. He becomes a free agent having signed his release papers from the club.
On Tuesday, Aldershot entertain Maidenhead (ko 7-45 pm) and this game will be the subject of a feature on BBC's Football Focus.
