Aldershot Town reported a profit of £43,690 for the year ending June 30, 2000 at the club's annual general meeting on Monday.

Club chairman Karl Prentice told shareholders: "Having reported three successive losses of £92,000 collectively up to 1997, the last three years has seen us turn that around to a collective profit of £132,500.

"That shows the dedication and determination of the board of directors, with the backing of the supporters who have stuck by us from the outset.

"It is all down to hard work and a committed and dedicated team. The club has progressed along with the playing squad. I am confident that we have the resources to further progress through the pyramid, steered by the current team management set-up."

He also revealed development plans that will help secure the club's future.

Aldershot plan to build a new social club on the North Stand side of the stadium as a priority.

"We have planning permission to extend the current club offices to build a social facility. This is a necessity that will help secure our future. We hope to commence this project within the next four months."

Aldershot are also negotiating with Rushmoor Council to improve the Recreation Ground facilities.
