A TALENTED?teenage horse rider has earned a place at a prestigious event at London Olympia.

Alice Robinson, 13, who attends Churcher’s College, has qualified for the London International Horse Show, which runs from December 12-18.

She shares her place in the team with top jockey Frankie Dettori’s son Rocco, the daughter of double Grand National-winning jockey Leighton Aspell and the daughter of champion flat race jockey Jim Crowley.

In order to qualify to ride at Olympia, the competitors (who must be under five feet tall and aged under 14) are required to win one of eight qualifying races. Alice qualified at the Lincolnshire County Show on her black Shetland Pony Cranford Fantastic, otherwise known as Zorro.

Being part of the Shetland Pony Grand National team for the last two years means that she is raising funds for the Bob Champion Cancer Trust, and as part of the criteria for riding at Olympia she is required to raise at least £1,000 for the charity.
