THE family cycle trail in Alice Holt Woodland Park, near Bordon, has been named as one of the Forestry Commission's top ten cycling routes in Britain.

The three-mile trail which circles the heart of the popular woodland park has been chosen as a perfect ride for the whole family.

Recreation ranger Craig Earl explained that the Forestry Commission is encouraging more and more people to make use of cycle trails as part of a national Forest Fitness campaign.

"Cycling is a superb way to get fit and also enjoy what the countryside has to offer," he said.

"The family trail is very popular as it is easy to find your way round. The cycling surface is perfect too for youngsters who want to go for a cycle with their mum and dad. Don't worry if you don't own bikes as there is a hire shop on site.

"Most families come to Alice Holt to simply get away from it all and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and scenery. If cycling isn't your thing then there are some lovely walks, picnics and children's play areas too. In all a great family day out.'
