THE Rural Life Centre was transformed into a Christmas wonderland as families hopped aboard the museum’s Santa Specials.
Visitors took a magical steam train ride on the Old Kiln Light Railway through the woods before being guided by elves to see a model railway, sheep and donkeys in the stable and finally into the elves’ workshop to watch them making toys – and were even able to take home a Christmas decoration.
Youngsters also had the chance to meet Santa Claus in his grotto and receive a gift.
Drinks and mince pies were served in the museum’s magic castle, where the shop and raffle were also located, while twinkling lights and festive music added to the festive atmosphere.
The Santa Special events were run by the museum’s volunteer group, The Rustics Volunteers, and all money raised will be put toward the upkeep of the museum.
