ST Andrew’s Infant School’s spring term came to an end on Maundy Thursday with a fun-filled eggstravaganza of Easter activities for the children.

There was an Easter Service in St Andrew’s Church for the parents where the children performed The Story of Easter singing traditional Easter songs, followed by an Easter egg hunt in the churchyard and the obligatory Easter bonnet parade in the playground.

The rain kindly paused for the parade where the children proudly donned their creations, swapping the cat-walk for the bunny-walk around the playground while parents and teachers applauded.

A spokesman for the school said: “There were motorised waving bunny ears, enormous papier mache chicks, huge daffodils, and a headband of fluffy bunnies among the creations this year.

“The creativity of the children, with a little help from their parents, shone out even if the sun didn’t.”
