CHRISTMAS is here – well, sort of!

It may only be the first week of November, many village bonfires are still to be lit and it may be a balmy 15C outside with incessant rain, but try telling that to the good people of Farnham’s Lion & Lamb Yard shopping precinct.

The tree is up, complete with its quaint white picket fence in front of the eponymous lion and lamb statue, the guttering and eaves of the shops and eateries lining the sloping cobbled thoroughfare are awash with twinkling white lights, and signs in windows leave no-one in any doubt that it’s next stop Christmas!

For some this is terrific news, Santa’s on his way. For others this is a nightmare, "it’s only November!". Either way, it’s coming ready or not!

* The official Christmas lights switch-on in Farnham is on Saturday, November 21.
