It won’t be long until the Great Farnham Duck Race returns to Gostrey Meadow, organised by Farnham Weyside Rotary Club.

On Saturday, April 27, the banks of the River Wey will be filled with colour, music and fun as the famous Racing Ducks take part in a series of races along the river to determine which one is the champion.

The excitement will be infectious as the crowds on the riverbank shout their encouragement.

Dozens of stalls from local organistions will fill Gostrey Meadow, as well as children’s amusements, music and plenty to eat.

New for this year will be a performance by the ever-popular Rock Choir.

Tickets cost £2 and there are prizes for the winners of each heat and, particularly, the final.

They will be on sale in the Lion Yard on Saturday, April 13 and Saturday, April 20.

They will also be available on the day itself. And, for those who can’t wait, it is possible to buy them online at https://tinyurl.com/farnhamduckrace

All the money raised will go to local and Rotary charities, and this year the nominated charity is The Woodlarks Centre, a valuable care home and activity centre, situated on the outskirts of Farnham in a beautiful wooded setting.

The Great Farnham Duck Race is organised by Farnham Weyside Rotary Club and to find out more about the club, and to make contact, see their website http://www.farnhamweyside.org.uk and follow their activities on Facebook.
