THE Alton Allotment Association is to urge the town council to "do its homework" before making a decision on the proposed development of the Whitedown site.
At a recent meeting, members voted firstly "to resist the proposal outright" and secondly to ask Alton Town Council to thoroughly investigate the feasibility of building the low-cost development, earmarked for Whitedown, on land at Chawton Park Road which is being put forward as an alternative allotment site.
