THE long-awaited, eco town-funded allotments in Bordon's Savile Crescent have been opened officially.
Town mayor Adam Carew marked the event by planting a black mulberry tree, chosen because the fruit can be eaten, thus embracing the grow-your-own-food philosophy of allotment owners.
