AN action-packed Witley Village Fair kept show goers entertained all afternoon both in the village hall and on the recreation ground.
Back by popular demand, were ‘Griffin’ and ‘Pride’ from Fullers Brewery, who pulled the dray for visitors rides.
The fun kicked off with country dancing by Witley Infant School pupils, children’s races, a dog show and an energetic zumba session.
Members of The Arden Holford School of Ballet displayed their skills inside the Chichester Hall, while a Punch and Judy show was on offer under the shade of a copper beech and Godalming College Jazz Band provided live music.
Village groups manned a host of stalls offering entertainments ranging from a human fruit machine, hook-a-duck, re-home a teddy or guess the name of the flamenco, to a coconut shy, hoopla, tombola and speed camera challenge.
Organising committee member Sarah Carter said: “Crowds queued at the ice cream van and there was a barbecue, beer tent, jacket potatoes, Indian snacks, donuts and strawberries.
“Refreshments were provided by All Saints Church in the Chichester Hall before the popular dog show and Grand Draw back in the heat outside.
“Sean Bartlett was very busy all afternoon showing visitors his military land rover and display of 1970s and ’80s army equipment
“As well as raising funds for Witley’s community groups taking part, a sum of £660 was raised for this year’s charity, The Hydon Hill Cheshire Home.
“The fair committee would like to thank all our visitors and everyone who helped, ran a stall, provided entertainment, donated prizes or provided sponsorship.”
