THERE will be a number of alterations to South West Trains services to and from London Waterloo this weekend (January 28 to 29).

Around half of Waterloo will be closed all day Saturday for preliminary work on the major station improvement project.

As a result, trains to and from Alton (via Farnham) will divide or join at Woking, extending journey times by around 40 minutes.

Lines will also be closed in the Wimbledon and Surbiton areas all day Sunday for renewal and maintenance work.

This will affect services throughout the South West Trains area, resulting in an hourly service between London Waterloo and Alton.
