Students on HSDC’s public and defence services courses at Alton College and South Downs College have raised £526 for mental health charity Havant and East Hampshire Mind.
More than 90 of them took part in an annual fundraiser of gruelling challenges - including a 1.5-mile run, sit-ups, press-ups, a farmer’s carry and battle ropes - to highlight mental health issues, particularly in the services.
Representatives of Mind often visit Alton College to run workshops about the role played by the charity and to offer support to those who need it.
An HSDC spokesperson said: “This partnership has allowed HSDC to support staff and students by providing a dedicated mental wellbeing programme to ensure that everyone at the college is as healthy and happy as possible.”
